Description:
An archive and monthly contest community for Inuyasha poetry

Mission Statement:

To provide a community where people can share and receive feedback on their Inuyasha poetry, and to encourage the proliferation of this oft-neglected artform through community challenges where voting will award the best entries.

Note:

This community highly encourages the work of beginners and those who have never considered writing poetry before. There is a dearth of poetry in Inuyasha fandom, and we can remedy that if people are willing to try something new.

Rules:

1) All forms of poetry are welcome here, including free verse. The only requirement is that your poetry relates in some way to the manga/anime series Inuyasha.

2) Comments and constructive criticism are highly encouraged, but flames will not be tolerated.

3) When posting a poem to the group, please use the following format:

Title:
Genre:
Rating:
Pairings:
Warnings:
Summary (optional):

4) Place all poems longer than a few lines behind an LJ cut.

5) Posting recommendations of poems not written by you is allowed, but make sure to credit the author.

Challenges:

Challenges are posted every month, with deadlines on the last day of the month. Users are allowed to submit multiple entries. After the deadline, voting will take place to award the best entries. The winners will receive award banners to display.

If there are less than two entries at the end of the month, the entry will be added to compete in the next month's challenge.

Use the same labeling format as described above when posting an entry to the group. In this case, you could use "Genre:" to also indicate your poem's style (sonnet, haiku, free verse, etc.)

You may post your entries in other communities/journals/archives at any time, if you wish to.

Currently, challenges contain three themes or prompts for you to write about. Challenge entries must be brand new, written specifically for the challenge. You cannot enter old poems of yours.

Non-challenge poems and recs can still be posted while challenges are going on. New poems are not automatically entered in the challenges unless you indicate it in your subject line. It is also helpful if you are not entering your poem in the challenge to label your LJ entry tags "non-challenge".
