A new IY Community!

Hey there everyone!

With our wonderful mod (knittingknots !)  permission, I would like to tell you all about my brand new Inuyasha Fan Fiction community, iy_insomnia .  As the kick-off challenge is a simple poetry challenge (haikus!), I thought that it may apply to some of the community members here.

If you're interested in checking it  out, just click here!

Thank-you very much,

-Neon Chandelier :)

Once Upon a Time...

Once upon a time, there was a new InuYasha fan who had just discovered LJ, and made a friend of one of the regulars there who shared some talk about InuYasha and fic.

The two of them wrote back in forth in email, and created some poetry.  The regular took the newcomer by virtual hand and showed her IYpoems,  and encouraging her, got her to join and post the poems they had written.

It was the first comm I joined on LJ because of that.  It was alterfano  who kindly was showing me around.  And I continue to have a fond spot for both her and this comm.

Anyway, enough nostalgia.

Now, I've dusted off a few things and have been giving what to do with this comm some ideas.

When I joined the comm, it had a once a month challenge, with suggested ideas, but they were not mandatory.  Multiple submissions were allowed.  It was also used as an archive.

Later, there was a form of the month challenge.

We can learn from the past and move on to the future, and play with all the lovely words and images and ideas we can come up with.

Things I'm thinking about:

a monthly form feature....where we go through a poetic form, possibly discuss it, definitely demonstrate it.  Banners for all who rise to the form challenge.

Suggested topics of the month, with a vote at the end.

Possibly expanding the comm beyond the scope of InuYasha into other fandoms if the demand is there.

Now, before anything is set in stone, would love to have some feedback.  Ideas?  Comments?  Things that interest you?  Things you hate?   What we want to do with this comm depends on you!

Handing the comm over to KK!

Hey all, just wanted to stop by and let you all know that I am giving the comm to knittingknots. I think she will do well with it, and I hope you all welcome her with open arms! I will still be around but only as a member, no longer a maintainer or mod. So welcome KK and good luck!

Hey everyone! I know it's been pretty quiet over here. I've been messing around with the layout, so I'm sorry if things are a little out of place for now.

I wanted to know who was all still here, and if anyone was interested in doing some kind of challenge for the holidays to bring some life back in here. Let me know! Thanks :)

Another Reminder; Future of this Comm

Just a friendly reminder that voting for prompt 1 is still open HERE. We still only have two votes, so if you haven't done so, please do so!

Also, I've decided that once this contest comes to a close, I am going to make this a posting community again. As much as I wanted to, this type of writing isn't very popular to make it on it's own in this fandom.

I will still post random challenges/prompts for those interested evry once in a while, and may even do an occasional contest, but there will be no more weekly/bi-weekly contests.

So, as of now, this comm is solely a posting community for your poems in the IY fandom.
